Call Me an Idiot
But I still think that hiring people to make it look like you were the victim of a hate crime is wholly unbelievable — unless you're Donald Trump.
Jussie Smollett recorded a protest song against Trump that I heard in 2019. I even sampled it back then on a track I was working on at the time.
I still believe that Smollett’s talent and sincerity shine through. Why would someone like him need more attention than he already had as a breakout star on Lee Daniels’ Empire, working with a remarkable cast including the incredible Taraji P. Henson?
Who stood to gain from ruining Smollett’s reputation and casting doubt on the existence of real hate crimes?
